The surah's big idea

Collecting more must not distract us from obeying Allah

What did I learn from the surah?

  1. 1. Competing for more
Boasting about having more wealth and children distracted you from obeying Allah, and it went on until you died and were buried in the graves.
  2. 2. You will know
That should not have distracted you! You will know that the Hereafter is better for you, then you will know how bad it was to be distracted from it. If you truly knew, competing for more would not distract you.
  3. 3. Asked about blessings
You will surely see Hellfire on the Day of Judgement, then you will see it with certainty, then on that Day you will be asked about every blessing Allah gave you.
