The surah's big idea

Allah made us in the best form; the winners believe and do good

What did I learn from the surah?

  1. 1. The fig and the olive
Allah swears by the fig and the olive, two well-known fruits, by Mount Sinai, where Allah spoke to Musa, peace be upon him, and by this safe city, Makkah.
  2. 2. The best form
Allah created people in the best and most beautiful form. Then whoever does not obey Allah is sent down to the Fire, the lowest place. Except those who believe and do good deeds: they have a great reward that never ends.
  3. 3. The wisest of judges
So what makes you, O person, deny the Day of Judgement and reward after all these signs? Is Allah not the wisest and most just of judges? Yes, He is, so He does not leave people without a reckoning.
