Why Surah Al-Kawthar was revealed
The story as it comes in the sound hadith, in simple words for children.
The Prophet ﷺ was sitting among his companions when he dozed briefly, then raised his head smiling. They asked: why did you smile, O Messenger of Allah? He said: a surah has just been sent down to me, and he recited «We have given you Al-Kawthar» to the end, then asked: do you know what Al-Kawthar is? And he told them it is a river in Paradise that Allah promised him, full of great good.
