Surah Al-Infitar
Paper-cut picture from Surah Al-Infitar: a vast night sky with a long bright crack of light across it, small stars drifting down like falling sparks over a churning sea
Al-Infitar 82:1–5

When the sky breaks apart

The meaning, simply

On the Last Day the sky will split, the stars will scatter, the seas will burst into one another, and the graves will be turned over and their people brought out. Then every soul will know what it sent ahead and what it left behind.
