The lessons
1 · Verses 1–5When the sky breaks apart
On the Last Day the sky will split, the stars will scatter, the seas will burst into one another, and the graves will be turned over and their people brought out. Then every soul will know what it sent ahead and what it left behind.
2 · Verses 6–8Your Generous Lord
O man, what has deceived you about your Lord, the Generous? He created you, shaped you, balanced you, and put you together in whatever form He willed.
3 · Verses 9–12Noble recorders
No! But you deny the Day of Recompense. Over you are noble angels who keep and write down your deeds; they know whatever you do, good or bad.
4 · Verses 13–16The righteous and the wicked
The righteous, who gave Allah and people their rights, will be in bliss. And the wicked, who neglected them, will be in Hellfire, entering it on the Day of Recompense, never to be absent from it.
5 · Verses 17–19That Day the command is Allah's
And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? Again, what will make you know? It is the Day when no soul can do anything for another, and the command that Day belongs to Allah alone.
